Our Story
As just regular ol' midwest gals from small town Scotland, SD the last thing we ever thought we’d be doing is running a multifaceted business as a family. After living out different phases of life as individuals, we all ended up coming back to our roots in our hometown only to feel a constant need for always heading out to the next closest “city” for shopping or for a fun reason to leave the house.
Can you relate?
It shouldn’t feel like such a task for small town communities to enjoy the little things like a good coffee or a fun new outfit.
We think small towns are important.
Keeping our dollars, memories, and relationships local is important.
Small towns stitch together the rural U.S. with incredible people and the small businesses throughout them really are the heartbeat of these communities.
Enter Maeday, a brand born to encourage others to revive and take pride in their communities - keeping small town livin’ alive and well.
Maeday is run by a mother-daughter trio, each with their own unique strengths and styles with one common goal: to keep small towns on the map and serve our community well.
It all started when we had the opportunity to buy our hometown coffee shop. This place had become a staple in our community!
We had no idea how to run a coffee shop back then but were excited to take on the task and have the opportunity to incorporate even more for our town to enjoy, like fun clothing & gift options.
On a chilly September night after some quick conversations, we decided to go all in, buy the coffee shop, and slowly make it our own. Now, we get to enjoy seeing and serving others in a way that serves our community while shining a light on how important it is to shop small.
